Keftab Uses Keftab is an antibiotic in a class of drugs called cephalosporins. Keftab fights bacteria in the body. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections How to Use Keftab Take Keftab exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each Dose with a full glass of water.
Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you. Keftab Side Effects This drug may cause following serious side effects : an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, face, or tongue, hives, or a rash), rash, redness, or itching, severe nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, mucous or blood in the stool, or unusual bleeding or bruising. Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Keftab and talk to your doctor if you experience mild nausea or diarrhea, or a yeast infection of the mouth or vagina.
Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual. Keftab Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, including: kidney disease, or a gastrointestinal (digestive) disease such as colitis. Do not take Keftab if you have ever had an allergic reaction to another cephalosporin or to a penicillin unless your doctor is aware of the allergy and monitors your therapy. Keftab should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Ask your doctor Before breast-feeding a baby. Caution is advised when this product is used in the elderly since this group may be more sensitive to side effects. Keftab Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you are using, especially : probenecid (Benemid), a loop diuretic (water pill) such as furosemide, bumetanide (Bumex), torsemide (Demadex), or ethacrynic acid (Edecrin), warfarin (Coumadin), or another antibiotic.
Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Declomycin. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Keftab Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, seizures, numbness and tingling in the arms or legs, and muscle spasms. Keftab Notes Do not share Keftabwith others.
Keftab Missed Dose If you miss an Keftabdosage, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Keftab Storage Store Keftabat room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
